ASCP functional
  • The supply chain includes all entities, activities and processes to supply a product or service to final customers.
  • The product or service may be of a commercial or social nature
  • A supply chain can have any number of entities linked together.
  • An entity may be a customer for some other entity and can be a supplier to another entity at the same time so the total chain may have multiple supplier/customer relationships.
  • Scope of supply chain management is managing the planning and execution of product or service delivery end to end.
  • Any function of the entities involved, which directly impacts the delivery of product or services is part of supply chain management
  • All other functions (e.g. Finance) of the entities involved which may or may not indirectly impact the delivery of product or services are not part of supply chain management.
